God of War Ragnarok has some returning characters and some new ones. Here are all the characters you can find in the game.
God of War Ragnarok is the highly anticipated follow-up of the God of War game in 2018. This game builds upon the old games and improves a lot of things. This game starts with many of the upgrades from the old games, and along our journey, we will get more things to become even better equipped for the fights ahead.
God of War Ragnarok picks up a couple of years first the first game and continues the story of Kratos and Atreus. They will meet up with the old cast and some new characters throughout their journey. So here we will break down all the characters in God of War Ragnarok.

All Main & Side Characters in God of War Ragnarok
Since we are breaking down all the characters in the game, naturally, this will contain spoilers on which characters will show up in the game. That said, let us go through all the God of War Ragnarok characters one by one.
Kratos
Kratos is the main character we play in God of War Ragnarok. So it goes without saying he will be our vessel to the game’s story.
Atreus
Atreus, the main supporting cast to our character, can also be seen in most of the game. However, there are certain sections we will be separated from Atreus and go on our own for a while.
Mimir
Everybody’s favorite talking head makes a return in this game. He has been living with Kratos and Atreus ever since the first game. And he will also be joining our new adventure in God of War Ragnarok.
Freya
Freya, even though she helped us in our journey in the first game, we didn’t have a good relationship by the end. So she will show up chasing us for revenge. Thus she will be someone who is going to be in the game too.
Brok & Sindri
The dwarven brothers will also show up to craft and upgrade your gears in this game. But they are not just blacksmiths; they also have some story tie-in to the game and the world. So it is safe to assume we will be visiting and helping out Brok and Sindri throughout the game.
Thor
It is no surprise that Thor, the God of thunder, will show up in this game. The post-credit scene from the last game already showed us Thor showing up on our doorsteps. Even though we didn’t see his face then, his hammer made him recognizable. And yes, we will have to fight Thor in this game.
Odin
Yes, Odin also shows up in this game. With the game based around Ragnarok, it would be weird if Odin didn’t show up. Fortunately, we didn’t have to wait long until he showed up at our doorsteps.
Tyr
We know Tyr will be in the game from the trailers. He will help us in certain sections of the game too. Even though Odin spreads the rumors that he killed Tyr, he is not dead, and we will have to find him and convince him to help us throughout our journey.
Durlin
Durlin is the third dwarf we meet on our journey. He is a new character who shows up in this game. And he will help us from time to time on our journey and understand this land’s gods better.
Angrboda
Angrboda, in the original Norse mythology, is Loki’s wife. But for God of War Ragnarok, she will show up to help us in various ways. If the trailers are any indication, she will play a significant role in pointing Atreus in the right direction throughout the story.
