Mihoyo premiered the Genshin Impact version 4.0 Livestream, announced new characters and events, and gave out free Primogem codes.
HoYoverse live-streamed the Genshin Impact version 4.0 special program and showed the community what the new update will bring to the players. With the version 4.0 update, HoYoverse is introducing Fontaine, the land of the Hydro Archon, brand new 5-star character Lyney and new 4-star characters, Lynette and Freminet. Zhongli, Tartaglia, and Yelan will be getting their rerun banners in this update.
With the version 4.0 update, the newest region Fontaine will be introduced to the game. Fontaine is the God of Justice and the current Hydro Archon among The Seven who presides over Fontaine. With the new region, HoYo introduced the new underwater exploration mechanics where players can dive deep in the water in Fontaine.

Character Event Banners for Version 4.0 Update
The newest 5-star Pyro character, Lyney, and Yelan will be the first two featured character event banners when the version 4.0 update drops. Both Lyney and Yelan banners will be in Phase 1, and the newest 4-star Anemo character Lynette will also be featured on this banner.
Tartaglia and Zhongli will be getting their rerun banners in the second phase of the version 4.0 update, and Freminet, the newest 4-star Cryo character will also feature on these banners.

New Archon Quest
A new Archon story quest will move the main story forward with the Traveler and what will happen in Fontaine.
The scheduled release date for version 4.0 update ‘As Light Rain Falls Without Reason’ is August 16, 2023.
