Mihoyo premiered the Genshin Impact v2.8 Livestream, announced new characters and events, and gave out free Primogem codes.
The wait for Genshin Impact v2.8 is over, and miHoYo showed the viewers in the version 2.8 Livestream program what the new update will bring to the players. One of the most popular characters in the game Kaedehara Kazuha is finally getting his rerun after almost a whole year. Players were asking for Kazuha to have a rerun banner so players can finally own him. Along with Kazuha, Klee and Yoimiya will also have rerun banners, and the newest 4-star character Shikanoin Heizou is making his appearance in the game.
For Phase 1, Kaedehara Kazuha and Klee will be the first two featured character banners after the version 2.8 update goes live, and Heizou will also feature on the banner. Followed by Yoimiya, who will feature in Phase 2 of the version 2.8 update.
A series of mysterious islands will appear in the game again for the players to explore. There will also be some new quests and events that will give players primogem and other rewards.
One thing that attracts a lot of players to these Livestreams is the free Promgem codes. Before every update, Mihoyo hosts these Livestreams and reveals 300 Free Primogem codes for the viewers.

Each code offers 100 Primogems and some extra experience materials as rewards.
Character Event Banners
Kaedehara Kazuha and Klee will be the first two Character Event banners when the version 2.8 update goes live. Shikanoin Heizou will also feature with both Kazuha and Klee character banners. Both Kazuha and Klee banners will run simultaneously, and Yoimiya will be in the second phase of the update.

Quests and Events
Kaedahara Kazuha’s story quest, ‘Acer Palmatum Chapter: Act I,‘ will move ahead of the story around Kazuha and the Kaedahara Clan.
Summertime Odyssey is the main event that will feature a couple of mini-events around the island. After completing the event, we can receive Fischl for free.

Reminiscent Regimen is a new Co-Op event in Summertime Odyssey, and players will need to team up with their friends to complete a series of missions.

New Diluc and Fischl Skins
Travelers will be able to unlock a Fischl skin from the Summertime Odyssey event. Here’s a look at the brand new skin for Fischl.
Brand new 5-star skin for Diluc will be available in the shop for players to buy. The skin also includes different idle animations and fighting animations for Diluc.
Sumeru Sneak Peek
At the end of the Livestream, Mihoyo gave us a sneak peek of the upcoming Sumeru region with a voice line that might belong to the Dendro Archon Kusanali.
