Recently Mihoyo revealed lots of info about the upcoming 5-star character Yelan.
Genshin Impact v2.7 is finally coming out on May 31st after it was delayed several weeks. The new update will bring lots of new content to the game, including story quests, world quests, events, etc. We will also get the new character Yelan, Kuki Shinobu, and an Ayato, Xiao rerun.
Recently, HoYoverse revealed Yelan’s character teaser. In the video, we see Yelan working behind the scenes to take down some Fatui. Along with the teaser, HoYoverse also released a blog post giving us lots of information about Yelan, including her personal info, talents, story, voice lines, hobbies, favorite food, and more.

Yelan Introduction:
Yelan is a 5-star Hydro Bow character hailing from Liyue who works for the Ministry of Civil Affairs, but nobody has ever heard of her. She works from the shadows to take down bad guys like Phantom, often appearing in disguises and disappearing after the work is done.
Personal Info:
Yelan is a Hydro DPS Bow character that combines rapid attacks with mobility. Her Constellation’s name is Umbrabilis Orchis. Yelan is affiliated with the Yanshang Teahouse, and her Birthday is on April 20th.

Talents:
Yelan’s Normal Attack is called Stealthy Bowshot, where she performs up to 4 consecutive shots with a bow. Yelan’s Charged attack lets her perform a more precise aimed shot. Holding charged shot accumulates hydro at the arrow’s tip and deals hydro damage when it hits enemies.
Yelan’s Elemental Skill is “Lingering Lifeline”. She fires off a lifeline that allows her to move rapidly and mark enemies. Ultimately, the lifeline explodes and deals hydro damage to marked opponents based on Yelan’s max HP.
Tapping the skill button makes Yelan dash only a short distance, while holding it for a short while will let the players control Yelan’s movement.
Yelan’s Elemental Burst is “Depth-Clarion Dice”. She deals AoE Hydro damage and creates an “Exquisite throw” that aids her in battle.

This follows the character around and will initiate a coordinated attack under the following circumstances, dealing Hydro DMG based on Yelan’s Max HP:
- This can occur once every second when your active character uses a Normal Attack.
- It will initiate a coordinated attack each time Yelan’s Lifeline explodes and hits opponents.
Story:
Every employee of Liyue’s Ministry of Civil Affairs has their information documented except Yelan. Most of her colleagues don’t know her, let alone know she works with them. This gives us somewhat idea about her character- elusive, enigmatic, and erratic.

When asked about her hobbies, Yelan’s answer was,
“In my free time, I live life completely at random. It’s quite simple: I make a list of things to do, then I roll the dice to decide which one I’m going to do next. It’s a surprisingly fun game, and it’s really broadened my mind… in that sense, it’s been quite helpful where my job is concerned.”
Favorite Food:
“I like to grind dried Jueyun Chilis and Violetgrass stamens into powder, mix them in with some Yunlai White Tea leaves, and then brew a strong pot of tea. It has the most powerful fragrance that makes you instantly fall in love with it. I prefer drinks like this with a long-lasting aftertaste to things like coffee and spirits.”
Mysterious Bracelet:
And Finally, Yelan shared info about the bracelet on her right arm. It contains magic used by her clan and can send messages. Only Yelan can decipher the messages from the blue bracelet.
