Galeforce is said to be removed come Preseason 2024.
Galeforce is probably one of the most controversial items in League of Legends. It was added to the game in Season 11, along with the Mythic Item update. The item provides 50 Attack Damage, 15% Attack Speed, 20% Critical Chance, and 7% Movement Speed to its user.
Overall, the item seems like a typical Marksmen item that is pretty gold-efficient. But the problem arises when you take it’s Unique Passive into account. Its Unique Passive – Cloudburst, allows the user to Dash to a target location and fire three homing missiles at the most wounded enemy within 750 units. And it has only a 120-second cooldown.
Most of the Marksmen in the game are very squishy, and they require the Summoner Spell Flash to reposition or to avoid getting killed. Now imagine an item that gives Marksmen an extra Flash summoner spell every 120 seconds; that is basically Galeforce.
The item has been very problematic ever since it was introduced to the game. That said, Riot did try multiple times to balance the item. Riot increased its Unique Passive – Cloudburst’s cooldown, decreased its stats, and even changed its Mythic Passive, but none seems to have worked.
So, for Preseason 2024, Riot has decided to remove Galeforce from the game finally.

Galeforce Removed
In a recent Dev Blog, Riot shared their thought on the current state of Galeforce and other Mythic items.
They shared that the Mythic system has been hard to balance, especially items like Galeforce. The items also do not satisfy the needs of many champion classes in the game. The only class that Mythic Items reasonably worked on was the Assassin class.
So, for Preseason 2024, Riot has decided to remove Mythic Items from League of Legends. Though the Mythic Item system will be removed, some Mythic Items will return to the game as Legendary items. But one item that Riot has confirmed is not coming back is Galeforce.
With how many Passive and Actives the item has, Riot has decided to remove the item. Also, there will be more cuts, but we aren’t sure what those are yet. Riot is yet to unveil a lot of the details so we all have to sit tight and wait for Riot to give us more information.
