Second Preseason Patch 10.23 hotfix nerf is addressing the overpowered tanks, nerfing Sunfire Aegis, Bami’s Cinder, Frostfire Gauntlet, and some other tank items.
The biggest patch of the season, the 2021 preseason patch went live just a couple of days earlier with some questionable new items and champions. And at this point, everyone in the League of Legends community is convinced that Tanks and Assassins are getting the most of the patch while others are still struggling.
Riot Games however has already addressed some overpowered things in the previous hotfix change. They nerfed Viktor, Eclipse, Liandry’s Anguish, Lichbane, and some other “broken” things while Kassadin was the only champion to receive buff on that hotfix.
While they received nerfs, tank items were completely untouched hence, Tanks champions started to dominate the preseason patch in terms of win rates.
And today, League of Legends’ lead gameplay designer Mark “Scruffy” Yetter has shared their plans to take down tank items.
“Hits Sunfire and Frostfire a bit harder than Chemtank,” Riot Scruffy on the Tank nerfs. “Also includes bugfixes for Wardstone exploit and jungle+support starters.”
