What Are Districts
Districts are the most basic building mechanics in Frostpunk 2. They provide resources such as Food, Frostland Teams, Shelter, and more. They are the base of your economy and allow your city to function.
All Districts need multiple Tiles and cost Heatstamps to build. They also require resources such as Heat and Materials to continue running. Moreover, some districts, like the Extraction District, require Resource Deposits, such as fertile grounds, to be built.
Districts, like Hubs, can also provide bonus effects, such as reducing heat costs.
However, they can also cause problems such as Squalor, which can increase Disease and Tension, and decrease Population Growth. These problems can occur when there aren’t enough Materials to meet the Demand for Maintenance.
Districts can also be expanded to produce more resources, and expanded Districts can also let you build more buildings within them. You can do this by unlocking additional research in the Idea Tree.
