Some recent Fortnite leaks have revealed teasers for an upcoming Open World Sandbox RPG game mode within Fortnite Battle Royale.

Fortnite was originally a cooperative shooter-survival game with up to 4 man squad to fight off husks and defend mission objectives with fortifications and defenses. But later Epic Games decided to develop a Battle Royale mode following the success of PUBG.

Little did they know that Fortnite Battle Royale would go on to become one of the biggest and most successful games. After the massive success of Fortnite Battle Royale, Epic Games has practically moved away from the development of Fortnite Save the World which was the original Fortnite.

But some recent leaks suggest that Fortnite is trying to develop a new Open world Sandbox RPG game mode in Fortnite Battle Royale.

Fortnite Open World Rpg Sandbox Gamemode:

Fortnite leakers recently found teaser images of a new LTM(Limited Time Mode) codenamed “Saturn”. Two images related to this game mode were found.

The images show some Fortnite characters like Jonesy, Fishstick, Peely, and Cuddle Teams Leader standing in front of a giant monkey. We can see Peely holding a magic Staff, Jonesy with a sword, Fishsticks using a shield and spear. Last but not least, Cuddle Team Leader wielding a Bow and arrow in the images.

Combining the two images gives us a more clear view of the giant monkey and statue in the background.

Epic apparently mentioned their plans to make an open world simulation sandbox game during their court hearing against Apple. According to HYPEX, Epic’s plan to grow Fortnite is: “Go beyond Battle Royale – open world simulation sandbox”.

Currently, we have little info about the release date of such a game mode. But it could release at the end of Season 7 or the beginning of Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8.

Take all of this with a grain of salt as Epic Games is yet to make a formal statement on this matter. But hopefully, we get some new info about this soon.
