Respawn’s latest event is set to be the most expensive event in Apex Legends.

Respawn regularly collaborates with different titles and franchises to bring more flavor to the game. The latest event is a collaboration with Final Fantasy, bringing together two fan-favorite franchises into one. The event is also set to be the most expensive Apex Legends event ever. Unless this indicates a price hike for all future events as well.

With the focus seemingly going towards encouraging micro transactions, is this the way the game will move in the future? The community has already voiced opinions on the state of the game, and the increased pricing on events like these only adds to the doubt looming over the franchise.

How the Rebirth Event is the Most Expensive Apex Event

During events, players can purchase event packs. These are themed apex packs that you can unbox in order to get some event-specific items. The event-specific loot drops are locked behind these packs to incentivize spending. As such, for the Final Fantasy Rebirth Event, the cost of these packs has been increased from 700 to 1,000 Apex Coins.

According to the in-game store, they are currently worth 10$ for each pack. Furthermore, if all milestones are reached, you are rewarded with a mythic deathbox, which is a rather dull reward for spending close to 360$ for the event.

The leaked photo does seem to indicate a discount running with much more lenient pricing. However, most of the community speculates it is a one-time sale and the price throughout the event will remain the same. This only encourages players to cash in with a discount price before it’s too late. As it stands, this event will be the most expensive event to date.
