Vocations essentially define the combat role and play style of the character. For example, the Fighter vocation focuses on melee combat with a sword and shield, while the Mage is centered around casting magic spells.
The vocations are divided into three categories:
- Starting Vocations (e.g., Fighter, Mage, Thief, Archer) — Available from the start.
- Advanced Vocations (e.g., Warrior, Sorcerer) — Unlocked later in the game.
- Hybrid Vocations(e.g., Mystic Spearhand, Magick Archer, Trickster, Warfarer) — Combine aspects of multiple vocations and are only available to the Arisen.
You need to choose a vocation for their main character (the Arisen) as well as for the AI-controlled allies called Pawns that accompany them. This choice significantly impacts how the characters perform and grow in combat throughout the game.
