Deadlock’s roster is getting six new faces, including a crowned rat, a skeletal daredevil, and a nurse carrying a glowing syringe. Valve has revealed the next batch of heroes as part of its City Never Sleeps update, with players once again deciding who joins the game first.
Nurse Harrow, Deadman Danny, Baba, Solomon, Rat King, and Violet make up the lineup. Voting is already open, and the first hero arrives on October 2.
In brief:
- City Never Sleeps introduces six upcoming Deadlock heroes: Nurse Harrow, Deadman Danny, Baba, Solomon, Rat King, and Violet.
- Players vote on the release order through the new pregame lobby.
- The first hero arrives October 2, with releases scheduled for Tuesdays and Fridays at 2 PM PT.
- The reveal artwork gives each character a distinct theme, while full ability details remain outside this announcement.
All Six New Deadlock Heroes Revealed
Valve’s City Never Sleeps announcement introduces the characters through individual reveal posters. Each features three words that give players a taste of their personality or theme.
Here’s a closer look at the lineup.
Nurse Harrow

Nurse Harrow’s poster describes her as strict, terrifying, and a savior.
She wears a sharply styled medical uniform and carries a large, glowing syringe. Orange energy trails around her, giving the medical theme an unsettling edge.
Her reveal leaves an obvious question about how that theme will translate into combat. Healing could fit the character, but the announcement doesn’t confirm her abilities or role.
Deadman Danny

Deadman Danny arrives with the words reckless, high-flying, and explosive.
His artwork shows a skeletal character wearing goggles and flight gear, giving a thumbs-up with an explosion behind him. Of the six posters, Danny’s gives one of the clearest impressions of the character’s attitude.
The flying and explosive themes are front and center, though we’ll need a gameplay reveal to see exactly how he gets around and deals damage.
Baba

Baba’s reveal uses the words cackling, beady, and hexing.
She’s pictured sitting on a park bench with a teacup, glowing glasses, and a bird perched on her shoulder. More birds fill the background, while green vapor rises from the cup.
The artwork gives her a witch-like feel, especially with the reference to hexing. Whether that becomes curses, debuffs, or something else in her kit remains to be seen.
Solomon

Solomon’s poster leans heavily into chess, describing him as a strategist, focused, and checkmate.
He sits behind a chessboard with a piece suspended between his hands. More pieces surround him in the background, making the theme easy to spot.
That setup raises some interesting possibilities for a character built around planning and positioning. For now, those are impressions from the artwork rather than confirmed mechanics.
Rat King

Rat King is exactly what his name suggests, which is a large rat wearing a crown, surrounded by smaller rats.
His poster calls him scrappy, regal, and tenacious. The outfit mixes royal touches with scavenged-looking gear, and there’s even a slice of pizza tucked beside him.
The smaller rats are a noticeable part of the reveal, but Valve hasn’t confirmed whether they play a role in his abilities.
Violet

Violet’s three descriptors are ambitious, nimble, and creative.
Her poster shows her holding a brush, surrounded by illustrated sheets and sweeping strokes of color. Purple light adds to the art-focused design.
“Nimble” hints at an agile character, while the brush and artwork give her a strong visual identity. Her exact movement tools and combat abilities still need a proper reveal.
When Do Deadlock’s New Heroes Release?
The first of the six heroes arrives on October 2. Valve’s announced schedule then has heroes releasing on Tuesdays and Fridays at 2 PM PT, with two releases per week.
The community decides the order, so the announcement doesn’t assign an individual release date to Nurse Harrow, Deadman Danny, Baba, Solomon, Rat King, or Violet.
Players will also be able to earn New Hero Priority Tokens by playing once the first hero releases.
How to Vote for Deadlock’s New Heroes
Hero voting now takes place in the new pregame lobby, giving players a chance to back their favorite before a match begins.
Valve has outlined a few ways votes and participation work:
- Winning matters: Votes from the winning team count double.
- First daily win bonus: Your first win of the day grants double votes.
- Campaign posters return: Players can show support for their preferred upcoming hero.
With the first release coming on October 2, the opening vote will decide which of these six characters players get to try first.
