Calisto Protocol’s launch has been far from perfect. But a significant problem of the game is its graphical glitches and stuttering. Here are the settings you should use to reduce these problems.

Calisto Protocol is the newest game made and directed by the co-creator of Dead Space games. So it shares a lot of similarities with it. The combat and the overall game feels like a spiritual successor of the Dead Space games. Even though the game is good and fun to play, on the performance side of things, it is hard to let it pass.

Calisto Protocol has some of the worst graphical glitches and stuttering among the recently released games. The game’s constant performance issue is making the game almost unenjoyable to play. The problem behind all these issues may be because of how the game loads things. But we can apply a few settings change to lessen the issue. Here are all the things you need to do to fix the performance issue.

How to Fix Stuttering Performance Issues in Calisto Protocol

Calisto Protocol’s graphical glitches, stuttering, and performance issues all steam from the same place. According to the digital foundry, the game doesn’t load the shader cache. So as you play the game, it tries to load everything, resulting in these issues. The devs have said they are trying to fix all the performance issues with updates. But in the meantime, you can follow these steps to keep the performance issue to a minimum:

  • Turn off V-Sync
  • Limit framerate to 60
  • Use Direct X-11
  • Disable Motion Blur
  • Disable Depth of Field
  • Disable Subsurface Scattering
  • Turn off Film Grain
  • Anti Aliasing set to FXAA

These changes should lower the stuttering in the game. And if you still face many performance issues, you can also try to lower the lighting quality. Use these settings in the Lighting Settings:

  • Shadow Quality – High
  • Lighting Quality – Standard
  • Particle Quality – Medium
  • Volumetrics Quality – Medium

Changing all these settings will decrease the loading time needed to load all the game’s graphics. Since the game doesn’t have a shader cache, this should help you load everything faster, decreasing the game’s performance issues.
