Caldera is about to get a significant makeover in Season 4. Here are all the changes coming to Caldera with the start of Season 4: Mercenaries of Fortune.
With the integration of Vanguard into Warzone, players received a new map called Caldera in December 2021. However, the map encountered several issues following its initial release. Raven Software has since updated the map with new POIs, an underground transit system, and other features.
The new Warzone map Fortune’s Keep is the main draw of the Season 4: Mercenaries of Fortune update. But Raven is not shying away from Caldera, and they are making several changes to the map. Aside from purely aesthetic changes, the map will be updated with new POIs, an improved environment, and underground vault locations.

New to Caldera
New POI – Storage Town
Surprisingly, Raven is bringing a massive piece of Warzone history back. They are clearing overgrown areas and cementing the infamous Storage Town in Caldera. Back and ready for action, Storage Town is now located between the Mines, Airfield, Village, and Dig Site.
The locker rooms, water tower, and central buildings are all the same as they were before canonically. However, because it is built on the side of a hill, this version of Storage Town provides clear sightlines to neighboring areas rather than being cuffed in by a massive swimming pool structure and other high ground.
Furthermore, players can use the nearby hill to get a head start on the rooftops and search every open container for Supply Boxes and other items. The two auxiliary buildings have views of the complex and surrounding areas, with a Buy Station potentially spawning near the one closest to the Airfield.
Undoubtedly, Storage Town will remain a hot drop site for the foreseeable future of Warzone and Caldera.
Armored SUV
The brand new vehicle coming to Warzone is a gold armor-plated SUV. Consequently, the car can protect the entire squad. In addition to standard passenger seats, the SUV hosts a turret with a heavy machine gun.
Moreover, the vehicle provides players with access to nitrous. It gives the car an instant acceleration to evade tricky situations.
Caldera Environment Updates
Finally, Raven Software has decided to clear out vegetation on the map. The vegetation on the terrains of Caldera caused massive visibility issues. However, with the improved environment, the sightlines on the map will become more visible, making gunfights rewarding for players in most situations.
Caldera POI Updates
Capital
“Scaffolding and bridges can be found at the Capital, linking together the busy central district that contains the Fire Station and apartment complexes by their rooftops.”
Dig Site
“The Dig Site will no longer have skulls and bones after a successful excavation, eliminating multiple cover points in this sunken area.”
Arsenal
“A drydock in the Arsenal now holds a ship — explore it for items, Supply Boxes, and potential CQB engagements.”
Peak
“That is not the only river that dried up: look to the foothills southeast of Peak to see one of the major bodies of water completely evaporated and dammed up.”
Docks
“The shallow water near the Docks has receded, making this area easier to run through.”
