Ranked Play is officially out of beta with the launch of Vanguard Season 4. Here’s an in-depth guide to Ranked Play’s best loadouts, perks, and equipment.

Ranked Play was first introduced in Vanguard. This newly released game mode was in the beta testing phase for the first three seasons, but with the start of Season 4, it finally made an official debut. Even though the game mode is only out for a short time, it has already gained massive popularity among CoD fans.

The rules and regulations of Ranked Play are pretty much similar to the Gentleman’s Agreement from the CDL playlist. Like Gentleman’s Agreement, the Ranked Play also provides restrictions on killstreaks, specific attachments, equipment, and perks.

Ranked Play is a highly competitive mode with higher stakes than pubs. So, only the selected weapon loadouts, perks, equipments, and field upgrades will give you an edge over your opponents. So, here’s an in-depth guide that’ll help you build the perfect loadout to breeze through the ranks.

Best Weapon Loadouts for Ranked Play

This guide will recommend the best weapon along with the most suitable attachments in the allowed weapons classes: A.R.s, S.M.G.s, and Sniper Rifles. In addition, the recommended weapons are chosen based on CDL pick rates.

Assault Rifle – Automaton

Undoubtedly, Automaton is currently the best Assault Rifle in Vanguard. It’s an excellent pick for anyone looking for a reliable option, primarily due to its efficiency. Also, the weapon’s power is unmatched at locking down sightlines and rotation lanes of any map.

Here’s the best loadout for Automaton in Ranked Play:

  • Muzzle: F8 Stabilizer
  • Barrel: Anastasia Sniper
  • Optic: Slate Reflector
  • Stock: Zac Skeletal
  • Underbarrel: M1941 Hand Stop
  • Magazine: N/A (CDL Rule in Effect)
  • Ammo Type: F.M.J.
  • Rear Grip: Fabric Grip
  • Proficiency: Tight Grip
  • Kit: On-hand

F8 Stabilizer is the muzzle to go for because of its capability to increase recoil control and weapon stability. The Anastasia Sniper barrel is also there to complement the Muzzle as it provides added bullet velocity. For extra magnification, we recommend Slate Reflector. And, as it’s Underbarrel, we recommend the M1941 Hand Stop because it has no alternatives due to its superior recoil control bonus.

We also suggest the F.M.J. ammo rounds for further penetration ability. Moreover, the Fabric Grip is the ideal rear grip to increase recoil control. As for proficiency, add a Tight Grip to decrease weapon sway. Finally, equip On-hand to bring it all together.

S.M.G. – MP40

MP40 has been the strong S.M.G. since day one. The weapon is superior in its category for its easy-to-control nature. Furthermore, the gun has a 100% pick rate in CDL pro play, so nothing else comes close to it.

Here’s the best loadout for MP40 in Ranked Play:

  • Muzzle: No. 3 Rifle Break
  • Barrel: Krausnick 317mm 04B
  • Optic: Krausnick IS02M
  • Stock: Krausnick 33m Folding
  • Underbarrel: SMLE Pistol Grip
  • Magazine: N/A (CDL Rule in Effect)
  • Ammo Type: Lengthened
  • Rear Grip: Stippled Grip
  • Proficiency: Brace
  • Kit: Quick

For the MP40, the best choice of muzzle would be the No.3 Rifle Brake, as it provides increased recoil control. The optimal barrel and stock to complement the loadout are Krausnick 317mm 04B, and Krausnick 33M Folding. In addition, Krausnick ISO2M is the best iron sight optic for the weapon. Lastly, equip the SMLE Pistol Grip for better aiming stability and sprint-to-fire speed.

We also recommend the Lengthened ammo rounds for added penetration power. And for the rear grip, you should equip the Stippled Grip as it will decrease the ADS time. For proficiency, add a Brace to reduce recoil during sustained fire. Finally, equip Quick to increase movement speed and bring it all together.

Sniper Rifle – Kar98K

Sniper Rifles are back to CDL after a long time. Kar98k, on the other hand, has been dominating the Sniper Meta since the launch of Vanguard. The weapon is unparalleled for its elite mobility and damage stats. So, if you want to go on popping heads in Ranked Play, this is the weapon for you.

Here’s the best loadout for MP40 in Ranked Play:

  • Muzzle: L Brake
  • Barrel: VDD660mm 05HE
  • Optic: N/A (CDL Rule in Effect)
  • Stock: V.D.D. 98
  • Underbarrel: Heavy Foregrip
  • Magazine: N/A (CDL Rule in Effect)
  • Ammo Type: Lengthened
  • Rear Grip: Granular Grip
  • Proficiency: Driller
  • Kit: Deep Breath

L brake is the best Muzzle to equip as it compensates for the weapon shaking when the rifle is fired. The VOD660m 05HE is an excellent choice for the barrel as it increases bullet velocity and decreases recoil significantly. Next up is the Heavy Foregrip, which improves recoil control and aiming stability.

We also recommend the Lengthened ammo rounds for extra penetration capacity. And, to keep your running momentum intact, the ideal Rear Grip would be Stippled Grip. As for proficiency, add a Driller to increase bullet velocity. Furthermore, equip Deep Breath to hold your breath, so you can get extra time before firing it.

Best Perks for Ranked Play

You can use several perks to increase the potent ability of your loadouts. Here’s a complete list of the best perks for Ranked Play:

Perk – 1: Fortified

Fortified is the antidote for explosives. It reduces the damage taken by explosives. Moreover, it will also give you enhanced health regeneration.

Perk – 2: Radar

Radar works like a personal UAV. When your enemies fire an unsilenced weapon around you, their locations will be visible on the minimap. The perk is undeniably essential to your loadout as it will constantly provide you vital intel during a match.

Perk – 3: Double Time

Double time provides players with increased Tacital sprint duration. Furthermore, it boosts crouch movement speed by 30%. The perk will buff your movement speed, which will help you with your faster rotations and evasive maneuvers.

Best Equipment for Ranked Play

Tactical – No 69 Stun Grenade

The Stun Grenade is critical for restricting enemy movement on objectives or lanes. Furthermore, it also worsens aiming ability. Besides Stun Grenade, other lethal equipments are not allowed due to the CDL Gentleman’s Agreement. So, the Equipment is the only tactical choice for your Ranked Play.

Lethal – MK2 Frag Grenade

Frag grenades are hard to deal with in Domination and Hardpoint. They are super effective in clearing hills and objectives with proper timing. Although most players use Trophy System, a barrage of grenades becomes an annoyance during clutch moments.

Best Field Upgrades for Ranked Play

Two effective field upgrades are mostly used for Ranked Play. The first one is the Trophy System, and the second one is the Dead Silence. These two are popular and widely used in this mode. The trophy system is commonly used in Domination and Hardpoint. On the other hand, Dead Silence is mainly used for the Search and Destroy game mode.

Trophy System

It is a deployable field upgrade that acts as an autonomous defense system that can destroy up to three pieces of projectiles in its vicinity. It is commonly used to lock down objectives and deflect MK2 and Stun grenades.

Dead Silence

Dead Silence is a consumable field upgrade that makes footsteps silent. It has a time duration that refreshes with every kill you get. It is a must for the Search and Destroy game mode.
