Infinity Ward’s New AI
Infinity Ward has been clear with its new and improved AI since the beginning of the year. They repeatedly stated that they aim to revolutionize how people look and behave with AIs. Here’s a look at their intel drop:
The Director of AI Engineering, Sergio Ocio, starts the video by stating that they have studied military professionals to mimic their behavior and create an AI that is aware of its own life. Furthermore, he quoted, “We worked with Navy SEALs just to make sure that everything that we do is as realistic as possible.”
Consequently, Studio Director Mark Grigsby added to Ocio’s statement by pointing out that AIs won’t remain the same mindless opponents as in previous games. To better explain his statement, AI will fight for its life, and eliminating AIs will be more challenging.
The revamped AI will be present throughout the duration of the game. Furthermore, the same AI will be present in multiplayer modes such as DMZ and Warzone Stronghold. It is still unclear whether players will receive the new AI system with a pat on the back or not.
