The newest Call of Duty: Black Ops might soon be a reality thanks to Microsoft.
Microsoft has been on a hot streak lately with the rampant game leaks showing up on their store pages. Likewise, another game has been found in the store and it is by Activison. The unannounced title is called Red Door. It is a shooter with a PEGI 18 rating with a label of “extreme violence.” The title also has a size of 80gb.
The description of Red Door reads, “There is more than one truth. If you go looking for answers, be ready to question everything and accept that nothing will ever be the same. The Red Door awaits, do you dare step through it?”
In May, a game named The Red Door was leaked. Furthermore, its ID said, “COD2020INTALPHA1”. Speculation arose that it means Call of Duty 2020 internal alpha 1, and this is an alpha build for devs. For COVID, studios are now working from home, and hence, the developers have to share their builds through the console’s network.
So, fans are almost sure that this is a new Black Ops entry to the COD series. Furthermore, the Microsoft Store Red Door has a redeem code option. It is probably for the developer’s use. Even though, players did find a way to download and launch the game; only the splash screen is shown titled, “Call of Duty Black Ops CIA”.
In fact, Warzone has also helped to bolster this rumor, as they have a lot of Black Ops and Cold War references spread across the maps.
To summarise the next Call of Duty is pretty much confirmed to be Black Ops and only the official announcement remains.
Activision, please do not mess this up.
