Find out How to Fix the Packet Burst Error to enjoy Call of Duty Black Ops 6 with no issues.

Players who have preordered Call of Duty Black Ops 6 have received Early Access to the beta. However, many are reporting issues including Packet Burst errors.

The Call of Duty series is no stranger to Packet Burst errors and recent installments of the series, such as Modern Warfare and Warzone, have long been plagued by it.

It is a network issue that occurs when there is a disruption in the flow of data between the server and the game client.

This causes massive problems including lagging and stuttering. Thus, players have not been able to fully enjoy Black Ops 6 due to this nagging issue.

In this article, we look at how you can fix packet burst error so that you can play Black Ops 6 uninterrupted.

Fixing Packet Burst in Call of Duty Black Ops 6

Server Status

Firstly, you should check the Black Ops 6 server status over at the official Activision Support page. If Treyarch confirms that the problem is at their end, you will have to wait for the issue to be fixed.

Check Your Internet Connection

Make sure that the issue isn’t on your end. Close any unnecessary apps that may be taking up bandwidth. Also, check with your ISP that it is not an issue on their end.

It may also be an issue with your router, some older routers have limitations and cannot support the performance needed for modern online gaming.

Switch to Ethernet

Playing on WiFi is known to cause lag spikes and packet loss on any video game. Thus, you should switch to a LAN connection using an Ethernet Cable to make sure the issue isn’t on your end.

On-Demand Texture Streaming

Reports of Packet Burst have significantly increased ever since On-Demand Texture Streaming settings were permanently turned on with the launch of Season 5 of Warzone and MW3. This appears to be the case with Black Ops 6 as well.

You can’t’ fully turn it off but you can tweak the settings to minimize Packet Burst errors. Go to the Settings menu and select Graphics. Then select Quality and follow the steps below:

  • Set On-Demand Texture Streaming settings to Minimal.
  • Set the requirement for Allocated Texture Cache Size to 16 units.
  • Set Download Limits to ‘On.’
  • Set the Daily Download Limit to 1 GB

Crossplay

This one might hurt to do, as being able to play with people, especially friends, on all platforms is one of the great joys of modern gaming. But, turning off crossplay can result in smoother gameplay.

To turn off Crossplay, simply:

  • Go to Settings
  • Go to the Account and Network Section
  • Select the Crossplay Option
  • Set Crossplay Communication to ‘Off’

Region

Make sure that you are playing in your actual region, as playing in a region far from where you actually are will result in worse connections and higher latency.

If none of these fixes work, then all you can do for now is wait for Treyarch to fix the issue. There have been many reports of Packet Burst errors, so it is not a far cry to say that it might be an issue on Treyarchs’ end.
