With the wave of remastered maps coming to Modern Warfare 3, recent Call of Duty 2025 leaks hint at the return of classic Black Ops 2 maps.
Call of Duty is moving towards a new era with its COD HQ vision. COD HQ aims to bring future titles into a centralized fashion. The latest entrant to COD HQ will be Modern Warfare 3, which also gets integrated into Warzone 2.0.
Modern Warfare 3 is going to be the next premium COD title. Sledgehammer Games is developing the game in collaboration with Infinity Ward, Treyarch, Raven Software, and more. They are planning to bring back classic MW2 maps by remastering them.
Sledgehammer confirmed the remastered maps in the recent intel drop. Following the buzz of remastered maps, players have been made aware of a possible rework of Black Ops 2 maps for Call of Duty 2025.

Return of Classic Black Ops 2 Maps
In a recent tweet, reputed COD leaker BobNetworkUK shared how Treyarch’s COD 2025 will be like Modern Warfare 3 regarding map remasters. However, the classic Black Ops 2 maps will be remastered this time for the next-gen game.
No details on the maps have been revealed. However, BO2 had 14 maps at launch. So, we can probably see the following maps being remastered in COD 2025:
- Aftermath
- Carrier
- Cargo
- Drone
- Express
- Hijacked
- Meltdown
- Overflow
- Plaza
- Raid
- Slums
- Standoff
- Turbine
- Yemen
Aside from these BO2 maps, players can expect other popular maps from previous BO titles to appear later. In the Black Ops Cold War, most previous maps returned to the newest engine. Take this with a grain of salt, as official announcements or discussions will be made after Modern Warfare 3’s release in November.
