Riot has released a mid-patch update, which includes Aurelion Sol nerfs and an Elder Dragon bug-fix.

Patch 14.3 was a very sizable update, all things considered. As it marked the start of Lunar Revel 2024, it included a new event, many new balance changes, skins, etc.

Firstly, we got the new Heavenscale skins, which even included a mythic legendary skin right out of the bat. Similarly, we are also getting new Porcelain skins in League of Legends Patch 14.4.

Alongside new skins, we also got many balance changes. One of the champions who got a massive buff is Aurelion Sol.

The item change that happened earlier this year affected all of the champions in one way or another. While most mages were flourishing, one mage in particular started to struggle in the meta. And that was Aurelion Sol. Due to it, he got massive damage buffs in both his Q and W. However, alongside that, he also got some scaling nerfs as well.

These patches made Aurelion Sol too strong to a certain extent. Due to it, he is getting some nerfs in this mid-patch update.

League of Legends Patch 14.4 Mid-Patch Update

Aurelion Sol Mid-Patch Update

  • Q Stardust Stacks per Champion Burst: 3 >>> 2
  • W Cooldown: 15/14/13/12/11 seconds >>> 22/20.5/19/17.5/16 seconds
  • W Bonus Damage applied to Q: 18/20/22/24/26% >>> 8/9/10/11/12%

In a quick glance, this patch nerfed his scaling again, alongside nerfing his damage. So let’s talk about it one by one.

Initially, in this patch, they had already nerfed his E scaling but left every other one intact. However, his Q scaling is the one that made him far stronger. So they decided to nerf it a bit.

Afterward, they also nerfed the W bonus damage and cooldown. The cooldown definitely got the most amount of nerfs, as now it takes a lot more time to roam than before. Additionally, the additional Q damage you deal with W has also been lowered.

These nerfs should force him not to roam as much as before, but he can still be a dominant champion in the late game.

Elder Dragon Bug Fixes

Next is a small bug fix, but it has a very large impact. In the last patch, due to a bug, the first Elder Dragon would spawn at 5 minutes instead of 6. While many players didn’t notice, it still made the game far faster than intended. Since it was a bug, it got fixed very quickly.
