Apex Legends Season 16 Revelry Character Changes: Class Rework, Lifeline and Pathfinder Buff, Horizon Nerf, & More

As Season 15 comes to a close, we finally have a glimpse of some of the legend-related changes that Respawn may implement with the highly anticipated Apex Legends Season 16 update.

Respawn has constantly been introducing new content and features to Apex Legends since Season 1 so that the mass player base can stay entertained and engaged in the game. Along with other changes, Respawn has already introduced 22 legends into the game since its release, and they continue to do so.

Respawn doesn’t just throw a legend into the game and leave it up to the players to explore the character meta. Instead, they consider various factors, including how frequently legends are chosen, and how well they perform in competitive, ranked, and casual play. After carefully considering these factors, Respawn adjusts the legends each season.

However, in Season 15, Respawn did not make any changes to the Legends. So, the character meta has remained almost unchanged. Nevertheless, it won’t be the same for Season 16. There are already rumors and leaks regarding certain Legends across all categories. So, without further ado, let’s see what character changes Season 16 may bring us.

Legend Class Rework: New Class “Skirmisher”

Starting from Season 16, Respawn will make a complete class rework across the Legend categories. According to the data miner, SWL, there will be 5 classes instead of 4 in Season 16, and the newly added class will be called Skirmisher.

Apart from the addition of a new class, there’ll be other changes to the already-existing legend categories. For instance, Gibraltar and Newcastle will be reassigned to the Support legends category, and all Support legends will have access to the blue Supply Bin, which was previously available exclusively to Lifeline.

red Supply Bin is also found in the game files. According to the leaks shared by Thordan Smash, all Assault Class Legends will be able to open these red Supply Bins. These bins will provide extra ammunition and weapon attachments to the Assault class legends.

Lifeline Buff

Even though Lifeline’s formidable res shield might never return, Respawn has plans to give her another useful buff that could make her more effective in the character meta. An updated Lifeline care package drop animation that is far quicker than the present one was discovered by well-known data miner KralRindo.

KralRindo claims that the drop animation is 2.5 times faster, resulting in a care package landing in 6 seconds as opposed to the existing drop duration of 15. Therefore, it is highly possible that Lifeline will get this care package buff when Season 16 debuts.

Pathfinder Buff

An Apex Legends content creator named bobz observed a change with Pathfinder in the Broken Moon live stream by the devs. bobz noticed that in the dev stream, Pathfinder could travel with their Zipline much faster than regular speed.

Given that Pathfinder will be a Skirmisher legend and won’t be able to use the Survey Beacon starting from Season 16, it makes perfect sense for Respawn to bless this friendly robot with a suitable Passive or perk. Therefore, the Pathfinder mains still have hope.

Horizon Nerf

After the Spellbound Collection Event went live, players found a significant Horizon nerf that wasn’t included in the patch notes. Respawn later reverted the nerf and said this was an accident. However, Josh Medina, the senior producer of Respawn, indicated in his tweet that the Horizon nerf may indeed be released, just not immediately as the ALGS Split 1 Playoffs are right around the corner.

Season 16 is expected to launch on February 14, while ALGS Split 1 Playoffs will take place from February 2 to February 5. Therefore, it is highly likely that the Horizon tactical nerf will be released as soon as Season 16 launches.
