Apex Legends just released the best Flatline skin with the cleanest iron sight in the Sun Squad Collection Event. Unfortunately, the skin isn’t going to stay.
Respawn just released Sun Squad Collection Event on March 28, 2023, and is the third Collection Event of Season 16. Like always, Respawn released a bunch of new cosmetic items via the Collection Event, and they don’t come in cheap.
Among many cosmetic items, Apex Legends got a unique Flatline skin named Splash Zone. Surprisingly, Respawn gave this Flatline skin, hands down, the cleanest iron sight in the game. Being impressed with the ironsight, many players immediately bought the Splash Zone skin without giving it a second thought.
However, a few hours later, Respawn made an announcement on its Twitter that the design of the ironsight wasn’t intended to be like that, and they’ll fix it in a future update to match the other standard Flatline ironsights.

Players Demand Refund for the Flatline Skin
As the Season 3 Battlepass Reactive Flatline skins were previously nerfed, people were excited to see the new Flatline’s ironsight. As a result, many players immediately bought the Splash Zone skin as the Collection Event went live, and some even purchased it after the announcement was made on Twitter. Nonetheless, most of them were unaware of what was about to happen.
So, when they actually heard the news, they became pretty upset with the overall situation. Naturally, players who only crafted the Splash Zone skin because of its ironsight wanted a full refund.
Not just that. Some even indicated that they would consider Respawn to have deliberately made an “oops” in order to “grab your money, and run” if they choose not to issue refunds to the players that bought the skin only for the ironsight.
The default Flatline ironsight has always been despised by the overall player base. So, pay-to-win or not, most of the player base just wants Respawn to make all the Flatline ironsights this clean. However, it may just be a dream that’ll never come true.
