Recent Patch Notes have confirmed some weapon changes coming in the Apex Legends Legacy update, including Peacekeeper spawn change, Mozambique buff, new weapon class, Spitfire Nerf, hop-ups for bows, and more.

Apex Legends: Legacy is just a few days away. The Apex Legends Legacy update is scheduled to drop on May 4. The update will bring a new permanent game mode along with a new Legend, Valkyrie. New, specially prepared maps for the new game modes will also be introduced.

The game is about to undergo a massive change, and as of now, it seems like it will be for the better. There are also some changes to the weapon meta coming along with the new Legacy update of Apex Legends. The update will make changes to some existing weapons, along with introducing us to the new bow and their hop-ups.

Recently, Apex Legends Patch Notes made us aware of the weapon changes coming in the next season. These changes could very well shift the current weapon meta that we currently have in the game. Below are some of the changes to the weapons coming in Apex Legends Legacy.

New Bocek Bow

A new bow is getting into the loot pool in Apex Legends Legacy. The description of the bow reads,

“The new Bocek (pronounced bow-check) compound bow is a precision marksman weapon that rewards a skilled and confident hand. Holding down fire will draw the bow over a short time, increasing the power of the shot, with maximum power giving optimal damage and projectile speed. Repeatedly firing the Bocek right as it reaches maximum power provides the best-sustained damage.”

The Bocek Bow uses a new ammo type called the Arrow. These are hard to find, but fired arrows will stick to surfaces and remain in the world for players to pick back up and reuse.

The optics that can be used with the Bocek Bow are:

  • 1x HCOG classic
  • 1x holosight
  • 2x HCOG
  • 1x-2x variable
  • 3x HCOG optics

The Bow is the only weapon in the game that can use two hop-ups at the same time, giving it more flexibility.

Apex Legends Weapon Changes:

Assault Rifles

Assault Rifles in general have received a nerf. Their headshot multiplier has been reduced.

  • Reducing the headshot multiplier for all assault rifles from 2.0 to 1.75

Peacekeeper:

Currently, the Peacekeeper can be found inside the care packages, but after the Legacy update, it will be moved to ground loot just like before. The Triple Take will take its place as the care package weapon going forward.

Along with this the Peacekeeper also received some changes-

  • It comes with the Precision Choke by default, which can be toggled off
  • Pellet damage reduced from 10 to 9
  • Rechamber time increased from 0.9 seconds to 1.1 seconds
  • Reload times increased (regular from 2.45 to 2.5, empty from 3.35 to 3.5)
  • Pellet spread increased in general, and spread when charged increased for all charge levels (from 0.65/0.45/0.2 to 0.85/0.65/0.35)
  • Quickly loses charge after leaving ADS

Triple Take:

The Triple Take will see some changes to make it powerful enough to be viable as a crate weapon. The changes to the Triple Take are-

  • As a crate weapon, it will come with a 9 ammo clip and 63 reserve ammo
  • The fire rate increased from 1.2 to 1.3
  • Time to full charge reduced from 1.1 seconds to 1 second
  • Retains charge briefly after leaving ADS
  • Move-speed while aiming down sights has been increased to match other marksman weapons — faster than snipers, slower than ARs
  • Increased spread while airborne and aiming down sights

Havoc

The Havoc Rifle’s recoil was fairly hard to control early in the pattern, especially for new players. So, the devs have decided to make it easier to control the initial recoil of the Havoc.

Spitfire:

The Spitfire on the other hand has dominated the Season 8 meta. With its high magazine size and decent recoil, it was the top pick among players. So, the devs have decided to make it a little harder to control by making its recoil stronger when you initially start firing.

The 30-30 Repeater

The 30-30 also saw some love in the patch notes. The changes are-

  • Increased leg damage multiplier from 0.75 to 0.85
  • Move-speed while aiming down sights has been increased to match other marksman weapons — faster than snipers, slower than ARs

G7 Scout

  • Move-speed while aiming down sights has been increased to match other marksman weapons — faster than snipers, slower than ARs.
  • Increased hip-fire spread size (reduced accuracy) to be more in line with other marksman weapons

Longbow

  • Increased headshot multiplier from 2.0 to 2.15

Wingman

  • Increased headshot multiplier from 2.0 to 2.15

Mozambique

Yes, Mozambique is getting a buff in the Apex Legends Legacy update. In the next season, Mozambique will have six rounds in the magazine. The shot spread of Mozambique has also been readjusted.

  • Increased magazine capacity from 4 to 6
  • Moved the lower 2 pellets inward in the blast pattern

P2020

  • Increased bullet damage from 15 to 18
  • Lowered fire rate from 8.5 to 6.25

Arc Stars

The Arc stars will remain almost the same as before, but the initial slow has been removed.

  • Aim and movement are slowly removed from the initial stick.

New Weapon Class

A new weapon class will be introduced in the new season called the “Marksman Weapons”. The weapons that will fall in this category are-

  • G7 Scout
  • Triple Take
  • 30-30 Repeater
  • Bocek Bow

We still don’t know if the ammo type of these new class will be changed in the next season.

Removed Hop-ups

The Hammerpoint and Skullpiercer have been removed to make room for the new hop-ups explained below.

Two New Hop-Ups

The Skullpiercer hop-up for the Longbow and Wingman will be removed with the release of the new Update.

We will be getting two new hop-ups called the Deadeye’s Tempo and Shatter Caps in the Apex Legends Legacy update. These two new hop-ups are for:

  • Deadeye’s Tempo– Sentinel & Bocek Bow
  • Shatter Caps: Bocek Bow & 30-30 Repeater

The Deadeye’s Tempo tests the player’s ability to match their own rhythm with the gun or bow in their hand. The Deadeye’s Tempo will increase the fire rate if fired at the perfect moment.

On the other hand, the Shatter Caps will turn the Bocek Bow and the 30-30 Repeater into weapons that can hit multiple enemies with the same bullet/arrow. The Shatter Caps hop-up will split the rounds into fragments upon firing. This hop-up will enable the Bocek Bow and the 30-30 repeater to be deadly at close range also.

The Bocek Bow has two hop-up slots, so you can use both the new attachments while using it.
