According to Twitch streamer and pro player ImperialHal, Apex Legends is in one of the dumbest metas ever, thanks to an influx of players using Snipers.
Apex Legends is an online free-to-play Battle Royale Game developed by Respawn and published by EA. Back in February 2019, when the only two battle royale games in the market were PUBG and Fortnite, Apex Legends were released. It was an overnight success because it used the streamers’ popularity to advertise to the gaming community.
A few days before the release of Apex Legends, many Twitch streamers suddenly started playing a mysterious new battle royale game. They were given early access to the game servers, which piqued the interest of all their viewers. People were dying to try out Apex Legends after seeing the fluid movement mechanics, smooth gunplay, and, most of all, character abilities. Apex Legends was the first Battle Royale game to introduce character abilities that change the gameplay dynamic of battle royales.
It has been 4 years since the release of Apex Legends, and the meta has changed multiple times over the years. But, at the center of it, all remains the legend buffs and nerfs. But still, sometimes, Respawn nerfs or buffs a gun to the point of making them meta. When this happens all of a sudden, all players are running around with the overpowered gun, trying to be the last team standing and earning the title of champions.
Popular Apex Legends pro player and Twitch streamer ImperialHal believes Apex is going through such a meta right now. He thinks that the sniper meta that’s prevalent right now is the dumbest meta ever. Players have started to focus more on using the snipers, especially the Charged Rifle and ImperialHal is having none of it.

ImperialHal Slams the Sniper Meta as the ‘dumbest’
ImperialHal and many other Apex pros recently wanted Respawn to look into the Charged Rifle and branded it as unfun. They even claimed it be put into the care package because of how overpowered it is. He said on Twitter,
“oh trust me when playing no zone beacon im practically taking a 3v4 or even 3v5 because of charge lol”
And during his Twitch stream, ImperialHal touched on the topic once again. He said,
“Listen, there are so many people that say the sniper thing has been a thing, that is not true at all. The amount of snipers has literally quadrupled in the lobby. Like, It happens in ALGS and anything else comp related”.
He also claimed the sniper meta to be the dumbest meta ever in Apex Legends,
“It is one of the dumbest metas in this game. It will do 50-100 damage from like 200 meters even more than that. The gun has always been broken, but people didn’t really use it until like Rampart became a thing”.
