Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 introduces four new maps to the game’s current map pool. Here’s an in-depth look at the new maps.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 received worldwide success following the footsteps of its predecessor. MW2 introduced many new maps like Mercado Las Almas, El Asilo, Crown Raceway, and more. These maps fit into the realistic vibe of MW2.
Although MW2 features a diverse map pool, players were not content with the current map pool. Taking this account, Infinity Ward is introducing four new maps to the current map pool of MW2. Here’s a look at the new maps of MW2 coming with the Season 2 update.
Every New Map in Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 Update
The Season 2 update will feature four new maps, among which two are core maps, and the other two are Battle maps. Core maps are mostly 6v6 maps, and Battle Maps are large-scale maps for 32v32 or 64v64 game modes.
Core Maps
Dome

Located at the highest point in Al Mazrah, Dome resembles Call of Duty’s classic Observatory map. This small- to medium-sized map is built for fast-paced combat, with three main buildings surrounding a central street area. One of these is the iconic domed structure, which has a small catwalk that provides incredible views over most of the map’s outdoor spaces.
Valderas Museum

The other Core map launching at the start of Season 2 is Valderas Museum, returning after first appearing in the Modern Warfare 2 Beta. The map was taken out of the game after the Getty Museum authorities served it a legal notice. According to leakers, the map has been completely reworked to avoid any further problems in the future.
Battle Maps
Zaya Observatory

Zaya Observatory will be available in Ground War and Invasion modes, where the combat area will be expanded to fit all of Al Mazrah’s tallest natural points of interest. The Battle Map version encompasses the entire science facility and adjacent cliff sides.
Al Malik International

Located at the southern tip of Al Mazrah, this modern airport mixes traditional and modern architecture to host business and leisure activities and will be available in Ground War and Invasion Modes. The Battle Map version of this locale comprises the tarmac and main airport building, allowing Operators to take hold in all the familiar spaces within the Terminal or take to the roof for more advantageous angles.
