In EUL, 6 teams were fighting for the 3 Major spots on the last playday. In the first match, LFO beat PWNZ to secure their crucial 3 points and stay in the race. Additionally, this win meant MNM gaming was out of the fight for the Major spot, but they still were able to get a win against Outsiders.
G2 vs BDS was the match of the day, as the winner of this match would guarantee their spot in the Six Charlotte Major. There were huge expectations from this G2 super team, but on the last playday, they were stomped by the out-of-form BDS Esport. BDS won the match with a 7-1 scoreline, declining G2 their 3 points and also putting a huge dent in their round difference. Furthermore, this result confirmed LFO (ex-Vitality) a ticket to the May Major.
The last spot was completely open for Rogue, as they only needed a single win against Heroic. However, Heroic, the current best team in Europe, quickly ended Rogue’s hope of qualifying for the Major by defeating them 7-3. Consequently, G2 Esports managed to secure a 4th place finish in stage 1 of EUL and booked their spot for the Charlotte Major.
