Aion 2’s global release is scheduled for October 5, 2026, at 13:00 UTC, bringing the MMORPG to players on PC through Steam and NC’s PURPLE launcher. You can start for free once the servers open, with no Founder’s Pack required.

Before creating your character, it’s worth sorting out three things: your local launch time, which server your friends are joining, and the class you actually want to play.

In brief:

  • Aion 2’s global opening is scheduled for October 5 at 6:00 AM PDT, 9:00 AM EDT, and 13:00 UTC.
  • New players should consider a fresh Launch Server, while groups should agree on their region, faction, and server beforehand.
  • Start with the main story, learn your class, and save valuable upgrade resources while leveling.

When Will Aion 2 Be Playable?

The global launch follows eight hours of scheduled maintenance. NC’s official notice says maintenance begins on October 4 at 10:00 PM PDT, which is October 5 at 05:00 UTC. The update ends Advanced Access and begins the commercial launch.

So, that puts the scheduled opening at 13:00 UTC on October 5. NC says maintenance timings can change, so this is the announced schedule rather than a guarantee that every player will immediately get through the login queue.

If you’ve seen November 19, 2025 mentioned elsewhere, that was Aion 2’s Korean and Taiwanese launch. It is a separate release from the global version arriving this October.

Which Aion 2 Server Should You Play On?

For a first character, my recommendation is a fresh Launch Server in the region with the best connection, unless your friends already have an established home.

The global server selection includes North America East, North America West, Europe, Latin America, and Asia. New Launch Servers open alongside the existing Advanced Access servers.

Use this as a starting point:

Your locationRegion to consider first
Eastern North AmericaNorth America East
Western North AmericaNorth America West
EuropeEurope
South AmericaLatin America
Japan and Southeast AsiaAsia
Bangladesh and IndiaCompare Asia and Europe
Australia and New ZealandCompare Asia and North America West

These are practical recommendations, not measured latency rankings. Your internet provider’s routing can change which region feels best.

Fresh Launch Server or Advanced Access Server?

Choose a fresh Launch Server if you want to start alongside other newcomers. Join an Advanced Access server if your friends are already playing there and character creation remains available.

Examples of new server choices include Nania for Elyos and Hadala for Asmodians in Europe, and Kaisinel for Elyos and Lumiel for Asmodians in Asia. Check the region carefully because names repeat across regions.

Agree on Your Faction Before Creating a Character

Aion 2 assigns each server to one faction. Elyos servers are paired with Asmodian servers for opposing faction activities.

If you want to adventure together, agree on the same region, faction, and server. Choosing opposite sides of a paired server setup makes you opponents in faction content.

Which Aion 2 Class Is Best for Beginners?

Aion 2’s global launch has eight classes. Choose based on the role you enjoy:

ClassMain appeal
GladiatorDurable melee combat with a greatsword
TemplarDefensive combat and tanking
AssassinClose combat and positional attacks
RangerPhysical damage from a distance
SorcererRanged spell damage
SpiritmasterFighting with summoned spirits
ClericHealing and keeping teammates alive
ChanterSupporting allies with buffs and additional healing

These roles give you a better starting point than chasing a damage ranking that may change after a balance update.

I’d shortlist Gladiator for melee or Ranger for ranged combat on a first character. Cleric makes sense if healing is what attracts you to group content. Templar suits players who want to learn tanking, including positioning enemies and managing their attention.

Aion 2 Beginner Tips for Your First Session

Follow the Main Story

Use the main campaign as your progression route toward the global launch cap of level 45. Complete the tutorials as systems unlock instead of trying to understand every endgame feature immediately.

Once you reach the cap, equipment progression becomes a bigger priority, with item level determining access to further content.

Be Careful With Early Upgrades

You’ll replace equipment while leveling, so avoid pouring your best materials into every new drop.

Community progression guides recommend saving valuable manastones and limiting investment in temporary gear. Odyle Energy also deserves attention because it is used to claim dungeon rewards. Understand that cost before repeatedly spending it on early loot.

Settle on a Server Before Spending Money

Starting Aion 2 is free, but paid systems affect the experience. The Special Quai Membership is listed at US$14.99 for 30 days, applies to a server, and is required for Market access.

Try your class and confirm your group’s server choice before activating paid benefits.

Install the Correct Client

The global release is for Windows PC through Steam and PURPLE. If you participated in the Steam test, NC’s guidance says the Playtest app is a separate installation from the release client.

Get the correct version installed, finish updates, and check the official notices before launch. If maintenance runs longer than scheduled, reinstalling the game won’t get you online any sooner.
