A reputed industry insider has confirmed that AI and Strongholds in Warzone 2.0 will receive changes with the Season 4 update.

Call of Duty Warzone 2.0 borrows its core mechanics from its predecessor. While most things in both games are similar, Warzone 2.0 features many new landmarks with unique features. One of the most important landmarks of the game is Strongholds.

Strongholds are AI-controlled, and players must eliminate them to achieve the end rewards. The Strongholds appear on the map as the game progresses into the second circle. However, Strongholds and its AIs are changing with Season 4, according to InsiderGaming’s Tome Henderson.

What are Strongholds?

Strongholds are a quick way to get loadouts and high-tier contraband weapons in Warzone 2.0 and DMZ. These POIs were added as a new feature for players to boost their way through during the early game period by eliminating AIs. Strongholds can be identified by their fortress look with orange Al Qatala flags around the building.

What are the new Stronghold and AI Changes?

Strongholds will receive major changes with the Season 4 update to freshen up the ongoing system. Let’s take a look at the changes:

  • AI will be removed.
  • Ditching their previous system, Strongholds will become active during the Infil period.
  • Strongholds that are inactive with the White Supply Boxes present will be highlighted on the TacMap.
  • Any enemy player near the Stronghold can also see the UAV radius and moreover, recapture the Stronghold.

While these changes might not seem like a lot, they will surely shake up the early game farming methods. Players will have to plan carefully starting from Season 4 as Strongholds will become high risk, high-reward landmarks.
