Warzone 2.0 is getting a brand new resurgence map- Ashika Island. Here’s a look at all the POIs of the new BR map.
Call of Duty Warzone 1 introduced traditional BR elements with its mechanics. The first map Verdansk was a hit amongst players, but the map enforced a rather slow playstyle. Later on, with the launch of Cold War, Activision excited Warzone’s gameplay by introducing Rebirth Island.
Rebirth Island was different from Verdansk as it brought a new game mode to Warzone. The game mode titled Resurgence is a fast-paced respawn mode. It is the same as normal BR mode, however, players keep respawning instead of heading to the Gulag.
Resurgence was game-changing for Warzone 1. Players and content creators were happy with the fast-paced gameplay. However, with the launch of Warzone 2.0, Resurgence was taken out of Warzone 1. Fortunately, the game mode is returning to Warzone 2.0 with the new Ashika Island coming in the Season 2 update.

Warzone 2.0 Ashika Island
The new Ashika Island is based on the Japanese architecture of ancient and modern periods. The map has seven POIs, each with its own distinct characteristics. The new map is opposite to Al Mazrah, as the map features massive green terrain instead of an empty desert.
Based on the WAW map, Tsuki Castle is a famous landmark returning from Vanguard. The POI is at the heart of Ashika Island and will be one of the busiest POIs in the game.
The Town Center is loosely based on the Black Ops map Raid. This tight area features many rooms making it a paradise for sentinel players. Considering Raid’s popularity in BO games, players should expect heavy traffic in Town Center after the map arrives.
The Beach Club is a unique POI located on the farthest corner of the map. The POI is surrounded by water which will open up space for water combat and escape routes.
Infinity Ward has revealed three POIs from the seven, and the others will be shown just before the Season 2 update. The other POIs are yet to be revealed, however here are the names:
- Port Ashika
- Oganikku Farms
The new Ashika Island has received positive reactions from players and content creators alike. We’ll look at the map closely just before the Season 2 update that arrives on February 15, 2023.
