VALORANT will officially release in China. Riot Games is also releasing an exclusive new melee only for Chinese players.

VALORANT is a 5v5 hero-based first-person shooter inspired by the highly popular Overwatch 2 and Counter-Strike. The game first made its official debut on June 2, 2020. The game immediately became popular among FPS enthusiasts due to its colorful gameplay, exciting lore, and hero-based abilities.

After capturing the larger market, Riot Games will enter China, one of the biggest markets in the world. The entry into China will significantly boost VALORANT’s player base and attract more experienced players and organizations to the ecosystem.

To celebrate VALORANT’s release in the Chinese market, Riot Games is releasing a brand new melee named Kitana. Unfortunately, this Kitana melee will be exclusively available with the VALORANT China launch, and only the Chinese player base can purchase the melee for a short duration.

VALORANT’s New Kitana Melee

The new China-exclusive Kitana melee is a work of art. The Kitana melee initially appears to be an ordinary knife with a neat design and a combination of red and golden colors. However, the knife transforms into a war fan with flaming animation when the Kitana melee is upgraded.

Moreover, upon upgrading the melee to level 2, the Kitana melee shifts its color to violet while keeping the original design the same.

The Kitana melee’s exclusive release in China hasn’t been received well by players worldwide. Another reason why players are upset is that a recent leak said that the melee would cost less than the standard pricing.

Yet, the fact that VALORANT is being formally released in China is fantastic news. On July 12, 2023, the game will reportedly go live in China, as confirmed by Riot Games.
