VALORANT is back with its Season 2026 cycle, introducing an exciting balance update that transforms the performance of key Agents in both ranked and casual play. Although Riot Games’ official portal has yet to unveil a dedicated 12.02 patch notes, the community is alive with discussions about potential buffs for Controller Harbour and adjustments to Duelist Reyna’s kit in this mid-cycle balance update.
Patch 12.02 provides important changes to both Harbor and Reyna to improve their roles in competitive play. The Harbor’s Cove shield now has greater health, which makes it harder to shatter and better for defence. His High Tide wall is now taller and longer, which gives it more coverage. Storm Surge now makes sounds when enemies are hit, which makes it easier to get input and stay vigilant. Holding Harbor’s ultimate Reckoning in place makes it last longer and drives foes faster, which makes it better at controlling crowds.
Reyna’s snowballing potential is lessened by nerfs. Her soul orb lasts for less time, which makes kills happen faster. The extra HP goes away when her health goes above 100, unless she is utilising her ultimate. Also, she needs more points to use her ultimate now, which makes it take longer for her to change into her powered-up form. The goal of these adjustments is to make her more stable and powerful.
