VALORANT Mobile is already looking like one of Riot Games and Tencentโs biggest wins in China, as the mobile version of the tactical shooter has reportedly exceeded 10 million daily active players in the region.
Tencent previously highlighted VALORANT Mobile as the most successful mobile game launch of 2025 in China, with the title recording more daily active users and gross receipts in its first month than any other Chinese mobile release that year.
VALORANT Mobileโs China Launch Is Already Huge
VALORANT Mobile was always expected to be a big deal, but its early performance in China seems to have gone beyond normal hype. The game launched first in China, with development led by Tencentโs LightSpeed Studios in collaboration with Riot Games. Riot had originally announced plans for a mobile version back in 2021, but the project only properly resurfaced in 2025 with China as the first major market.
China has one of the strongest mobile gaming markets in the world, and competitive shooters already have a massive audience there. Instead of launching VALORANT Mobile globally all at once, Riot and Tencent focused on a market where mobile esports and tactical shooters can scale quickly.
10 Million Daily Players Would Be a Massive Milestone
If the reported 10 million daily active player count is accurate, VALORANT Mobile is not just doing well. It is already operating at a level most live service games can only dream of.
For context, Tencentโs financial reporting already suggested that VALORANT Mobile had the highest first-month daily active users and revenue among new Chinese mobile games released in 2025. The wider VALORANT franchise in China also reportedly passed 50 million monthly active users across PC and mobile after the mobile launch.
China Is Becoming VALORANTโs Most Important Market
VALORANTโs growth in China has been building for a while. According to reports, official data from a Tencent news conference showed that concurrent users for VALORANT on Chinese servers doubled from over 1 million in 2024 to 2 million in April 2025. The same report also stated that VALORANT Mobile had over 20 million pre-registrations before release and more than 50 million downloads in its first week.
That kind of momentum gives Riot a much bigger foundation for esports, content updates, and long-term monetization. It also helps explain why China is becoming such a major part of VALORANTโs future, especially with Shanghai set to host the 2026 VALORANT Champions event.
VALORANT Mobile Could Become Riotโs Next Global Esports Giant
A strong China launch gives Riot and Tencent valuable data before taking the game to more regions. It also proves that VALORANTโs formula can work on mobile when the controls, pacing, and competitive structure are built properly for the platform.
VALORANT Mobile crossing 10 million daily active players in China would be a massive statement for Riot Games. Even without official confirmation of that exact number, Tencentโs own reporting already shows that the game has become one of Chinaโs biggest mobile launches of 2025.
