Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, the first game from the series, is reportedly getting a remake for the current generation PlayStation console.
New rumors suggest that Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, the original title in the Uncharted series, is getting a remake for the PlayStation 5. Uncharted is a single-player action-adventure game and one of the most popular PlayStation-exclusive franchises ever made. Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune was released in November 2007 for PlayStation 3.

Interestingly, a remaster of Drake’s’ Fortune already exists with The Nathan Drake Collection, which was released in 2015. Bluepoint Games developed the Nathan Drake collection, and it was playable on the PlayStation 5 because of its backward compatibility. However, PlayStation Studios is considering remaking Drake’s Fortune exclusive to the PlayStation 5 and may launch it around 2026.
Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune Remake for PS5?
This report comes from the latest podcast episode from XboxEra, where Nick Baker and Jon Clarke claimed that both of them received information that PlayStation is working on a potential remake for Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune. Nick stated that the information he received was from an anonymous source, and the details were verifiable. Furthermore, Baker said the remake is being developed from the ground up and is already in production.
Nick Baker did not mention the developer working on the remake or when it could be released. However, the leaks from Nick have been mostly accurate in the past. There is a possibility that Sony is currently working on the game, but fans should not get their hopes up until there is an official announcement from PlayStation.
After the XboxEra podcast, a Naughty Dog modder and data miner named Speclizer posted on Twitter that an Uncharted remake was being discussed a few years ago. Speclizer could be talking about linking to the first rumors of Drake’s Fortune remake, but Sony ended up working on The Last of Us Part 1.
