On the brink of being relegated to the Losers Bracket Round 2, TSM makes a huge comeback by winning the very last match of the Winners Bracket, and secures a spot in the Finals.

TSM’s participation in the third year of ALGS has been quite successful. The team won the first Playoffs and came close to winning the second Playoffs, but was narrowly defeated by the other tournament favorite, DarkZero.

However, TSM’s transition into the ALGS 2023 Championship’s Group Stage wasn’t very smooth. Although TSM easily qualified for the Winners Bracket with ease, the team struggled to maintain its dominance throughout the Group Stage.

Additionally, TSM was having such a difficult time during the Winners Bracket stage that they were on the verge of dropping to the Losers Bracket by a huge point disadvantage. Despite being forced into a corner, TSM made an insane comeback in the final match and confirmed their spot in the ALGS 2023 Championship finals.

TSM Qualifies for ALGS 2023 Championship Finals

TSM’s first match in the Winners Bracket was a disaster. The team died very early in the game without a single kill. TSM suffered the same fate in the third, fifth, and seventh matches, where they failed to get a single kill and were eliminated early in the game.

By the seventh match, TSM had only managed to get 28 total points and was in the 18th position out of 20 teams, which wasn’t looking very good for the team. TSM needed to go all out with only one match remaining if they wanted to make it to the Finals without going through the Losers Bracket Round 2.

Unsurprisingly, the expectations from the team were low, but it was TSM we were talking about. Each and every player showed nerves of steel and performed extremely well in the last match. TSM remained focused and executed their usual game plan, securing the best possible position in the final circle.

Even so, the team didn’t leave any room for more kills. TSM had six kills in their point tally by the time there were only two teams left. Furthermore, they defeated the last team from the North APAC region, Dreamfire, and took first place in the final match.

TSM’s winning moment in the last match of Winners bracket

TSM accumulated 49 points in the Winners Bracket and secured fifth place out of the ten teams that will directly advance to the Match Point Finals tomorrow with 21 total points in the last match and 28 from the previous match.
