Steam Revenue Expected to Pass $20 Billion for the First Time in 2026

Steam is heading toward its first $20 billion year, according to Alinea Analytics. The firm estimates that revenue generated on the platform reached $16.5 billion through September, with another three months still to go.

Steamโ€™s Record September Pushes Revenue Higher

In its October 1 report, Alinea puts Steamโ€™s revenue for the first nine months of 2026 roughly 13% ahead of the $14.5 billion generated during the same period last year.

September also beat the previous September record by 13%. These are Alineaโ€™s estimates, with the $20 billion milestone still a forecast.

Which Games Are Driving Steamโ€™s Revenue?

Wardogs led Septemberโ€™s premium releases with an estimated $86.9 million, followed by Onimusha: Way of the Sword and The Blood of Dawnwalker.

Meanwhile, Counter-Strike 2, Apex Legends, PUBG, and Dota 2 collectively generated almost $168 million. Steamโ€™s record quarter drew spending across fresh releases and familiar multiplayer favourites.
