Killing or not killing Austin Rake can bring out two different consequences affecting your Starfield gameplay. This guide will show you the options and help you decide.
Starfield is the latest space-themed RPG where action and excitement are packed into a thrilling experience. Get out in your spaceship and explore the Settled Systems of the year 2340. Defend your people and fight against extraterrestrial enemies with celestial weapons.
As the story begins, players may meet different NPCs along the way who can be foes or allies, depending on the situation. Like that, there will be a situation where you must decide whether to kill or spare Austin Rake. Austin is an ex-crimson fleet member, and thus, the Crimson Fleet wants him dead, but the other party, The United Colonies, wants you to save him from the wrath of the Crimson Fleet.
Kill Austin Rake or Not?
As you look around the spaceship to find Austin, you may come across The Ragana, where Austin resides or, we can say, hiding. Players can blow up the ship, get him out of there, and spare his life. The choice is yours.
Kill Austin Rake
If you decide to kill Austin, you must also kill all the other passengers in the Ragana. Because if the players get inside and only take down Austin Rake, the other passengers will get furious at them for their behavior. And once they are angry, they will also try to harm you.
Thus, if you choose to kill Rake, you may have to kill everyone on the spaceship. However, players can also kill Rake from outside by blowing up the spacecraft, which will seriously upset UC Vanguard.
After you finish the task, the Crimson Fleet will be happy with you.
Spare Austin Rake
If you decide to save Austin from the Crimson Fleet, you just have to bring him to UC Vanguard, and then Commander Ikande will create a fraud report on the killing of Rake. Take the information to Naeva, and she will believe that you have killed Rake, and after that, she may give you the key needed to go forward in the gameplay.
Now the choice is yours. But it is recommended to spare Austin Rake and not kill him. Saving him will make your team members happy for you, and Commander Ikande will be pleased with your bravery and kindness.
