If you are facing the Operation Starseed Bug in Starfield, here’s how to fix it.
Starfield is Bethesda’s newest open-world space exploration game where humanity has left behind Earth and settled on various planets in faraway galaxies. The game offers the players a lot to explore, including several systems spread across the universe containing over a thousand planets.
Additionally, the main storyline requires the players to travel across these planets for a variety of objectives. It’s a space exploration game many of us have been hoping for a long time, and Bethesda Games has not failed to deliver.

However, with such a large game comes some difficulties for both the developers and the players. In a mission named Operation Starseed, the players are facing a bug that is causing the NPCs in the game to behave aggressively.
Unfortunately, this was not what was supposed to happen. Though the developers are yet to release a patch fixing this issue, there are some solutions you can try to fix this bug.
How to Fix Operation Starseed Bug
Since there has been no official patch for the bug, we have looked through Reddit for some solutions. According to one user, Raptor52, keeping your gun holstered during the mission fixed the bug for him, and no NPCs acted hostile. Another user named SeaworthinessMean201 suggested that waiting an hour in your ship after being attacked by the NPCs might solve the problem, and they will start acting normally again.
There’s another way to get past the bug, as suggested by EonSloth. Starfield has a lot of console commands or cheat codes that can make the game easier for the players in case they are facing any difficulties. If you type ‘kah’ in your Console Command, it will kill all the NPCs in the area, and thus, you can proceed peacefully. Use your keyboard’s ‘~’ button to open the Console command.
Another suggestion emerged in the post that mentioned shooting settlers would trigger the NPCs to be hostile. So, only shoot the people you are required to, and the game might be okay.
One final thing you can do is to try replaying the game from your last saved checkpoint to fix this issue or restart your game, as this worked for some of the players.
