Microsoft’s newest South of Midnight takes players to an American Southern folklore adventure. You play as Hazel as she tries to rescue her town, her family, and herself as her town transforms into a Southern Gothic fantasy, full of magic and creatures from Southern mythology.
The story, the plot, the stop-motion animation, the music, the adventure, and everything else are executed quite well, apart from the combat, which is lacking. Thus, if you can ignore this downside, South of Midnight is an excellent experience, showcasing a part of American culture.
