How to get into the Grand Market in Silent Hill 2 Remake.
Like in the original, exploration is very rewarding in Silent Hill 2 Remake. You can find supplies that make your journey in Silent Hill much easier and in some cases can be the difference between life and death.
While exploring Silent Hill and its various locations you’ll come across several buildings that might seem locked or empty at first. Exploring these buildings will often require you to solve a puzzle. These puzzles can be simple as well as agitating to solve.
While you’ll need to solve some puzzles to progress through the game, some are entirely optional and can be skipped. However, some optional puzzles can be worth solving because of the rewards they give.
In this article, we’ll be looking at how you can get into the Grand Market by unlocking the keypad locked door of its side entrance.

Unlocking Grand Market Door
The Grand Market is located in Eastern South Vale, on the corner of the intersection between Katz Street and Neely Street. The front entrance is boarded up, but the door, which is locked using the Keypad, is in a small alley to the side.
You’ll need to input the code onto the keypad to enter the Grand Market.
Grand Market Code
You can find a clue to this code on the south side of Eastern South Vale, southwest of the Grand Market Door. Go southeast to Sanders Street to find a big semi-trailer truck. Next to the truck, you’ll find a dead body with a Memo containing the clue on it.
The back of the note states that whoever wrote with checked the codes from 4014 to 4439 and was very close to unlocking the door. So, the code has to come after 4439. After some trial and error, you’ll find that the code is:
- 4442 on Light Difficulty
- 4444 on Standard Difficulty
- 4446 on Hard Difficulty
Grand Market Puzzle Rewards
You can get some very useful items for completing this rather short puzzle. Inside the Grand Market, you’ll find:
- 3 Boxes of Handgun Ammo (8 bullets in total)
- 3 Health Drinks
