Shaco is receiving some massive changes in the upcoming patch.
Shaco as a champion has always been a balance nightmare for Riot. The champion is either comically overpowered or beyond useless; there’s no in-between. Currently, Shaco stands on the strong side of the spectrum, especially Shaco support.
Despite not receiving any direct changes, Shaco Support has recently become quite strong. However, he did receive some indirect changes in the form of the new items.
With Season 14 changes, Riot introduced tons of new items into the game. Not only that, Riot reworked the support items, giving them more flexibility and gold generation. Both these factors resulted in Shaco support becoming a tad too strong.
As of now, Shaco Support has a win rate of 51% and a ban rate of 10% in Solo-Queue, which is pretty high considering how unique his playstyle is. Moreover, as people get used to playing Shaco, his win rate will likely go up.
Thus, Riot is preemptively nerfing support Shaco before he gets out of control. In this article, we will go through the proposed Shaco nerfs coming in Patch 14.3.

Patch 14.3 Shaco Nerfs
Here are all the Shaco nerfs coming in Patch 14.3,
- Mana growth reduced from 0.45 to 0.35
- W mana cost reduced from 70 to 70 – 50
- W bonus monster damage increased from 10 – 50 to 20 – 80
- E mana cost increased from 65 to 75
Shaco’s mana growth is going down quite a bit, but in compensation, Riot is reducing the W – Jack in the Box’s mana cost. W – Jack in the Box’s bonus monster damage is going up significantly, and finally, his E – Two-Shiv Poison’s mana cost is being increased by 10.
Overall, these changes should make Shaco support easily punishable, thanks to the extra mana cost on his abilities. Also, Shaco Jungle should be a tad bit better as well.
Released Date
The aforementioned Shaco changes are coming out in Patch 14.3, which is scheduled for Wednesday, February 7, 2024.
