Will S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl let you explore the Zone with a friend or two by your side?
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is finally released after years of anticipation and delays. It is the sequel to the cult classic S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl and promises to be more of what fans of the series love complete with modern visuals.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is known for its atmospheric and tense gameplay. The series sees you explore the Zone, an area filled with mutant wildlife and dangerous anomalies, as well as rival factions of Stalkers looking for loot and treasure.
Playing any game in the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 series is an unforgiving, lonely, and anxious experience, and the developers have stated that is the direction S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 will take as well.
However, many players have asked for a Co-Op mode in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2. After all, a post-apocalyptic survival horror shooter RPG where you fight both monsters and other humans seems like a perfect game for Co-Op play.
So, will S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl have Co-Op?
Does S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 have Co-Op?
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 will not have Co-Op at launch, and as of now, there is news that any such mode will be added in the future.
This may seem disappointing at first, as the Zone, with its hostile and unforgiving nature, seems perfect for Co-Op play. However, it’s important to understand that the developers have designed S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 to be a solo experience, and Co-Op would dampen the isolation and anxiety that the game aims to make you feel.
The developers have confirmed that a future update will add a multiplayer mode to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2. But this will be a PvP game mode.
There is a chance that Co-Op might be added in the future, but as of right now, the developers have remained steadfast on keeping S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2’s main story a lonely and anxious experience.
