After months of anticipation, Riot Games has unveiled the upcoming tank top laner, K’Sante.
In League of Legends, there are many sub-classes; none are as neglected as tanks. The last time Riot Games released a proper tank was back in 2020 with the release of Rell, though she isn’t even a tank top laner. And Ornn was the last tank top laner that Riot released, which was also in 2020.
Moreover, Gwen is the last top laner added to League of Legends. But she was a top lane skirmisher, not a tank. She differs greatly from the top lane archetype.
Not only that, but the durability update also hurt most, if not all, of the tank top laners in the game. Now they cannot do enough damage against a lot of skirmishers. After noticing how underpowered tank top laners are in the current meta, Riot Games has decided to add a new one.
In the Preseason 2023 roadmap, Riot revealed that 3 new champions are coming to League of Legends. One of them is a Tank top laner named K’Sante.
After that, we did not receive much new information other than he would receive a prestige skin in collaboration with Lil Nas X.
But recently, Riot has officially revealed K’Sante in their Billibilli channel (A Chinese video-sharing site). In this reveal trailer, we can see what K’Sante looks like, along with some backstories.

K’Sante Reveal
In this trailer, we can see K’Sante’s base model, inspired by Lil Nas X.
K’Sante will be a tank top laner, similar to Ornn, Sion, and Shen. He will use a huge blunt weapon called Ntofos. It is a unique weapon since they are initially very defensive until they break. When they break, it reveals a sharp blade that can tear through anything in their path.
As K’Sante is inspired by Lil Nas X, Riot will be working together with him to make one-of-a-kind Prestige skin for K’Sante, Prestige Empyrean K’Sante. This skin will be K’Sante’s launch skin.
Release Date
K’Sante will be released in patch 12.21 and scheduled to come out on Nov 3, 2022.
