Riot is changing Tahm Kench in Patch 13.13.
The state of Top Lane meta has been stale for the last couple of patches. So Riot is looking to spice up the Top Lane meta in Patch 13.13, starting with the Tahm Kench changes.
Tahm Kench, as a champion, has been out of the meta for a while now. Outside of some occasional support Tahm Kench, not many people play the champion. He currently has a low 1.5% in Solo-Queue, making him one of the least-played champions in the game. But Riot is planning to change that.
On Patch 13.13, Riot is looking to significantly change Tahm Kench and make his damage scale better with bonus health. They are also buffing his lane sustain as well.

Tahm Kench Changes
- Passive – An Acquired Taste – base damage reduced from 8 – 60 to 6 – 15
- Passive – An Acquired Taste – health ratio increased from 3% bonus HP to 6%
- Q – Tongue Lash – base damage reduced from 80 – 280 to 80 – 260
- Q – Tongue Lash – base heal reduced from 10 – 30 to 5 – 25
- Q – Tongue Lash – heal ratio increased from 5% – 7% missing HP to 6% – 8%
Tahm Kench’s passive base damage is taking a hit, but health scaling is getting buffed. So building items like Heartsteel will work even better. Q – Tongue Lash is taking a small hit but heal scaling is improving.
Concerns About Support Tahm Kench
After seeing the proposed changes, many players expressed concern about how it will affect Support Tahm Kench. But Riot has addressed the concerns and clarified the changes. According to Riot Phreak, the changes will not affect Support Tahm Kench much.
He stated, “TK support most commonly goes Heartsteel and Grasp and doesn’t tend to level much past 11, where passive scaling stops. This likely isn’t as impactful as you think.”
Though the changes do not impact support kench, they will definitely affect Top Tahm Kench. So we can expect to see more Top Tahm Kench in Patch 13.13.
