Riot is massively changing the summoner spell Ghost in Patch 13.14.

With Patch 13.14 fast approaching, Riot has revealed some of the changes for the patch in League of Legends. Among these proposed changes is the rework of the summoner spell Ghost.

The summoner spell Ghost has been very strong since it got changed in Patch 10.12. A mobility summoner spell that only has a 210 and resets on kills is pretty busted on any champion. But it took Riot years to realize that the summoner spell was broken. After Marksmen champions started abusing Ghost, Riot is finally taking action.

On Patch 13.14, Riot is looking to rework the summoner spell Ghost. They are looking to make the summoner spell less viable on Marksmen while keeping it relatively the same for its intended users. The way Riot is tackling it is by extending its base duration while removing its takedown effect.

Ghost Changes

  • Duration increased from 10 seconds to 15
  • Takedowns no longer extend the duration.

Ghost’s duration is being increased by a flat five seconds, while takedowns will no longer extend Ghost’s duration.

From the looks of it, Riot is looking to shift Ghost’s power from team fighting and more towards individual fights. Takedowns no longer extending ghost duration will make the summoner spell less useful on Marksmen, but on the other hand, the duration increase will help champions like Hecarim.

Release Date

The Ghost Changes will come out on Patch 13.14, scheduled to release on Wednesday, July 19, 2023.
