Here is our ranking of all the cameos in the Arena game mode.

During the summer of this year, Riot revealed the newest League of Legends game mode, Arena. This is one of the most unique game modes we have received in this game as of yet.

Firstly, instead of 5v5, the format is 2v2v2v2 and takes place on a completely different map called the Rings of Wrath. Moreover, runes are replaced by augments. Augments are buffs that players can pick during certain buy rounds.

Additionally, another mechanic that this game mode introduced is cameos. They are neutral-stage hazards that do unique things during certain rounds. Each of the cameos has a different gimmick, making all of them unique.

Since the second iteration of the Arena game mode is imminent, here’s a quick ranking of all the cameos of this game mode.

Ranking The Cameos in Arena 2v2v2v2

Even though the original run offered 10 different cameos, this time, there are only five. Three of them are returning ones, and two of them are completely new.

5. Sett Cameo

Sett is one of the returning cameos from the first run. And unlike some of them, Sett is very balanced all around. But he is still boring to play around with.

All he does is follow the players and wait till his health depletes, and he attacks the team that didn’t last hit him. Overall, he is a great cameo in terms of balance but doesn’t offer unique gameplay diversity.

4. Pyke Cameo

In our last ranking, Pyke held the second-best cameo in the game. However, during the current run, there are many cameos who are fun to play with.

In terms of gameplay, Pyke randomly casts Phantom Undertow to the furthest champion on the map. Whoever is hit by the Phantom Undertow will be stunned and be dealt physical damage.

It is one of the best cameos to play around with, especially if you have an aggressive team comp, as there will be an extra source of crowd control. But as stated before, there are way better cameos this time around.

3. Thresh Cameo

Thresh is one of the newest cameos in the game, and he does offer some new gameplay variety.

In-game, he will run around in circles and cast his lantern to the player furthest away from him. If a player gets hit by the lantern, then they will receive some shield. Additionally, any player can interact with the lantern to dash to Thresh. Moreover, Thresh will always throw the lantern to the disadvantaged team during the late game to keep the disadvantaged player safe.

As a new cameo, Thresh is certainly a lot better than most of the cameo that we received during the first run. Furthermore, he is a good cameo to have if you can use his lanterns right.

2. Gwen Cameo

Gwen was released during the second half of the first Arena run. As a cameo, she is probably the best cameo with a comeback mechanic.

In the game, every 12 seconds, Gwen casts her W – Hollowed Mist to the most wounded player in the game. That player also gains some heals based on the missing health. Players outside of the Hollowed Mists can’t cast any projectiles or hit the players inside of the mist. Additionally, Gwen will always prioritize saving the last player of the team during a 1v2 situation.

1. Sylas Cameo

Alongside Thresh, Sylas is also one of the newest additions to the arena game mode.

In rounds where Sylas is the cameo, he will give each of the players in the match one random champion ultimate. That ultimate will replace the Flee summoner’s spell.

Even though, compared to the rest of the roster, his gimmick doesn’t seem significant. However, he can provide every player with one more ultimate from a completely different champion, and it makes each round feel unique. With the extra new ability, every player must think differently. And due to it, it adds more gameplay variety to a match.

For all of these reasons, Sylas is currently the best cameo in arena game mode.
