Console-PC Crossplay

As we have stated earlier, Rainbow Six Siege Y9S4 is finally bringing crossplay between pc and console players. Squads with a PC player will always be placed in the PC matchmaking pool. Additionally, console players will have separate rank progression for PC and console.

Blackbeard Rework

Blackbeard has been remastered with a special new shield called the HULL Adaptable Shield. This gadget is similar in size to a regular shield in Siege, but the speciality is that Blackbeard can ADS by bringing the top glass part down. Although this body is protected, Blackbeard is still vulnerable to headshots when aiming down sights.

Furthermore, Blackbeard can use his shield to charge through soft walls, similar to Oryx dashes. This makes a big hole in the wall, but he can only use this charge for a limited number of times.

Operator Balancing Changes

Shield operators have received quite a big nerf as they turned out to be very aggressive and frustrating in the current meta. Ubisoft has removed shield melee damage, so defenders will only get pushback but not receive any damage (previously 65).

Additionally, defenders can now keep meleeing shields to increase the intensity of the guard breaks. The more you melee a shield operator, their body will exposed further. So Montagne playing in a corner can no longer sit idle, as he will now have to make a decision to engage the defender.

This season brings key updates to Ying, Sens, and ballistic shields for better balance. Ying’s Candela fuse time is extended, giving Defenders more time to respond. Sens can now toggle their ROU Projectors on or off, allowing more control over light wall deployment and visibility.

Rainbow Six Siege Y9S4 includes many more features and updates, which you can read here.

The latest season of Rainbow Six Siege is now available on the PC Test Server. So try out all new changes for yourself.
