Ubisoft has revealed Rainbow Six Siege’s latest season Y9S3 Operation Twin Shells, and it is looking quite promising.

Rainbow Six Siege Year 9 Season 3 Operation Twin Shells brings one of the most unique operators in recent times, named ‘Skopós‘, and fans would want to try it out for themselves.

However, not only that but to cover up for the disappointing season 2, Ubisoft is bringing more exciting changes like the Solis rebalance, Shooting Grounds while matchmaking, Drone Boost and more.

R6S Y9S3 Twin Shells: New Operator Skopós

r6s y9s3 operator skopos

Hailing from Greece, Skopos is a 2-health 2-speed defender, and in her lore, we find that she has many injuries, and uses a wheelchair to move around. But in-game, players won’t be able to see the character, instead, they will have access to her V10-Pantheon Shells.

Skopos has two remote-controlled shells, named Talos and Colossus, using which she can move around the Siege map. However, she can control only one robotic shell at a time, so the other one becomes inactive and remains shielded. But this does not mean, Skopos has two lives, if you kill her shell (which has the same health as any other 2-health operator), she will be eliminated for the round.

Skopos brings a brand-new weapon in Rainbow Six Siege, the PCX-33 assault rifle and for her secondary she has the P229 pistol. We will go into more detail in her operator guide.

Operator Balancing Changes

Solis

  • Gadgets remain unidentified when Solis uses her scanner.
  • To identify gadgets, Solis must use a charge of her SPEC-IO scanner called “overclock.”
  • Overclocking replenishes her energy and reveals gadgets.
  • When a gadget is identified, a warning is sent to attacker detection tools.
  • The SPEC-IO lasts longer and does not require a full charge to be used.

Dokkaebi

  • Starts with 0 charges at the beginning of the round.
  • Gains 1 charge every 45 seconds, with a maximum of 2 charges.

Nokk

  • HEL presence reduction is no longer time-based but depends on actions (e.g., only drains when shooting or sprinting).
  • The FMG-9 has an improved recoil pattern.

The new season is also bringing many quality-of-life improvements such as Drone Boost. Players will now be able to get a speed boost while controlling their drones to manoeuvre their drone to safety. Each drone will have 3-speed boost charges. Another feature that fans have been asking for is the ability to warm up in the shooting range while queueing for an online match, which has now been introduced.

You can find more details about the change on Ubisoft’s official page.
