Ubisoft has released the latest Y8S4.2 Designer’s Notes that provide insight into the upcoming balancing changes in Rainbow Six Siege, and this time get ready to see some nerfs.

The upcoming Rainbow Six Siege Y8S4.2 Patch will drop soon, and there are multiple operator and weapon nerfs on the way. Tubarão, the latest operator to be introduced, is one of the victims.

However, these changes are not bad news, as the quick response of balancing the newest operator shows the devs are ready to make the necessary changes as soon as possible.

R6S Y8S4.2 Patch Notes

Tubarão

The highlighting change in this patch is Tubarão’s changes. The number of Zoto Canisters is being decreased to 3 from 4, alongside his special interaction that slowed down Maverick’s Blowtorch is being removed. However, to balance these nerfs, Ubisoft has increased the electrical insulation effect after Canister destruction by 1.5 seconds.

Ace

The fuse time of Ace’s S.E.L.M.A. breaching charge has been increased to 4 seconds (from 3.2). Ace became one of the best hard-breaching picks in Siege, as he doesn’t have many downsides. So Ubisoft decided to slightly increase the breaching time.

“By increasing the fuse time, we want to give defenders a better chance to prevent the breach when a lot of resources are dedicated to protecting the wall.”

Ash and Iana

The G36C AR has received a recoil nerf, affecting both Ash and Iana. The vertical and horizontal recoil of this weapon has been increased on both PC and Console, as Ubisoft stated this gun had “the highest Kill Death Ratio on Attack”.

The Y8S4.2 Patch also includes some more changes like Maverick getting Smoke grenades, and SMG-11 damage nerf. You can read the full designer notes on Ubisoft’s website.
