Ubisoft has released a new roadmap update for Rainbow Six Siege’s Year 8 Season 3, which confirms some exciting updates that will be arriving in Y8S4.

Rainbow Six Siege Year 8 has already delivered a lot in terms of content with new operators, map reworks, playlist changes, and more. As the devs have already promised, they are now updating the roadmap to provide a better understanding of what the community can expect in the future of Siege.

The new Y8S3 roadmap update has confirmed two big things: A new Portuguese map, and an AI playlist where players can learn the basics of Siege gameplay.

The devs have confirmed that the last season of Siege’s Year 8 will introduce a brand-new map. “We have been building a new map on the foundation of verticality with carefully designed layouts and fresh avenues for strategic possibilities like never before!” stated Ubisoft in their official blog post.

Apart from that, players will be introduced to the new ‘Versus AI Playlist’ – a special game mode where players can practice, make their own strategies, and more without affecting other real players.

Another mysterious change that has been confirmed to arrive with Y8S4 is updated Frag Grenade mechanics. While the details have not been revealed, we can guess it will aim to lower the killing potential of a grenade and help balance the operator’s pick rate.

Also coming in Y8S4 is controller remapping for console players (later in the season), and Shield rework BETA which will be available on the Y8S4 Lab TS. However, some privacy mode features for consoles that were being worked on have been canceled for the time being.
