Rainbow Six Siege Y8S1: All New Changes Introduced

Rainbow Six Siege Year 8 Season 1 has just been revealed during the Six Invitational live stream, and Ubisoft is introducing some important changes to Siege with the first season of Year 8.

To kick off, Siege’s Y8S1 Operation Commanding Force is bringing the new operator from Brazil named ‘Brava‘. Brava is a 3-speed Attacker, whose primary gadget is called the ‘Kludge Drone’. Brava can control her drone and use it to hack defender gadgets. For example, Brava can hack a Maestro Evil Eye, which can then be controlled by Brava.

Apart from the new operator, Rainbow Six Siege Y8S1 is introducing new anti-cheat solution to discourage MnK players on console, new balancing changes, Battle Pass updates, and more. Find all the changes below.

New Attacker: Brava

  • 3 speed Operator from Brazil
  • Gadget: Kludge Drone
    • Hacks opponent electronics
    • Steals or destroys hacked devices
  • Counters:
    • Mozzie: can use drone’s functionality as defender
    • Mute
    • Solis
    • Vigil
  • Primary weapons:
    • PARA-308 assault rifle
    • CAMRS DMR
  • Secondary weapons:
    • Super Shorty shotgun
    • USP40 pistol
  • Secondary gadgets:
    • Claymore
    • Smoke Grenade

Gameplay Updates, New Features & Other Changes

Anti-Cheat: Mousetrap

  • Detects mouse & keyboard usage on consoles
  • Adds increasing amounts of input latency when device is detected
  • Launching mid-season

Onboarding

  • Introducing Beginner Challenges
  • Grouped by operator specalties, i.e. hard-breachers
  • Rewards: Operators, Renown, Boosters, Newcomer Packs
  • Available to all players

Balancing

  • Removed reload canceling
  • Zero: now has to manually pierce walls, gadget thereby better hidden
  • Buffed Muzzle Break & Compensator attachments

Battle Pass

  • New addition: Bravo Pack tickets
    • Earned for levels above level 100
    • Unlock any Bravo Pack rewards of your choosing
  • Later in Year 8: UI and UX improvements to revamped Battle Pass

Player Behavior

  • New voice chat anti-toxicity measures
  • Muted by default after repeated abuse

Quality of Life

  • Launch Test Server right from the live servers main menu
