Rainbow Six Siege’s Y9S3 is not far away, and we now have an update on what to expect to release with the next seasonal update.

Ubisoft has released a mid-season roadmap update for Year 9, highlighting the features and changes coming during this year. Some exciting features include Siege Cup (Beta), access to the shooting range while queueing and more.

While the Year 9 roadmap was already revealed, some alterations are required during the development process. Some features might take more time to introduce and need to be pushed back, on the other hand, some might be introduced earlier.

Shooting Range While Matchmaking

Ubisoft is finally bringing the feature which Siege fans have been yearning for years now. In Y9S3, players will be able to queue for matches and enter the shooting range at the same time. So when a match is found, it will automatically leave the range and start the match, a feature available in many other online games.

Siege Cup

The much-anticipated Siege Cup, a competitive tournament built inside the game, was announced years ago. It seems like Siege Cup is finally arriving with Y9S3 in its BETA phase. Unfortunately, only PC players from the NA and EU regions will be try out in this BETA stage, with a full release expected to arrive in Y9S4.

Operator Balancing: Solis, Dokkaebi, Nokk

Ubisoft introduced part 1 of Solis’ balancing changes in Y9S2, and part 2 is confirmed to come in Year 9 season 3. Solis was heavily nerfed in this season, so we might expect this balancing to introduce some changes so she is fun to play, but not too frustrating to deal with.

Dokkaebi and Nokk are also confirmed to receive balancing updates, but the devs have not confirmed what they will be as of yet.

Rainbow Six Siege Y9S3 is also bringing much-needed Anti-Cheat improvements, such as a new protection feature named ‘Binary Hardening‘. This update will try and make cheat creation much more difficult through encryption and hardening the game code base.

The full seasonal reveal of Rainbow Six Siege Y9S3 will take place on Sunday, August 25th, at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 7 PM CET.
